Srinagar, Feb 07: The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Farooq Nazki, a distinguished poet, broadcaster, and former Director of Doordarshan and All India Radio (AIR) Srinagar. Mr. Nazki, the maternal uncle of senior party leader and former Minister Naeem Akhter Andrabi, breathed his last on Tuesday at Narayana Hospital in Katra. His departure has left a void in the literary and broadcasting spheres of Jammu and Kashmir.
Farooq Nazki’s legacy is woven intricately into the cultural fabric of our region, with his profound contributions enriching the lives of countless individuals. As a poet, his verses resonated with depth and emotion, capturing the essence of Kashmir’s beauty and struggles. His tenure as Director of Doordarshan and AIR Srinagar exemplified his commitment to promoting local talent and fostering cultural exchange.
In light of this profound loss, JKPDP President Ms. Mehbooba Mufti has extended her heartfelt condolences to Naeem Akhter Andrabi Sahab and the bereaved family of Farooq Nazki. Reflecting on the immeasurable impact of Mr. Nazki’s work, Ms. Mufti remarked, “I am deeply saddened by the passing of Farooq Nazki Sahab.
