Jammu, June 23: The Mega Job Fair 2025, a collaborative initiative between Cluster University of Jammu and Desh Bhagat University, Punjab, Monday concluded at the GCW Gandhi Nagar Campus, reaffirming the institutions’ joint commitment to youth empowerment and employment generation.

The event was graced by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, as Chief Guest. He formally handed over offer letters to selected candidates, symbolising the Union Territory administration’s proactive approach to enhancing job opportunities. Commending the initiative, he remarked that entrepreneurship is thriving in Jammu and Kathua and that more jobs will be created in the near future. Earlier in the day, Shantmanu, Additional Chief Secretary, inaugurated the fair and interacted with recruiters. He described the fair as a valuable initiative bridging the gap between education and employment.

The job fair received an overwhelming response, with over 3,700 registrations and 2,100 candidates appearing for interviews conducted by 54 top companies from across India. These recruiters offered approximately 4,000 vacancies across technical, non-technical, and service sectors. A total of 510 candidates were shortlisted, while 270 received on-the-spot job offers. The valedictory session began with a formal welcome address by Prof. K.S. Chandraseker, Vice-Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, who highlighted the university’s focus on enhancing student employability. Dr Sandeep Singh, President of Desh Bhagat University, emphasised the importance of academic-industry collaboration in creating meaningful career pathways. Prof. D.S. Manhas, Director of the Placement Cell, shared that extensive arrangements had been made to ensure smooth coordination between recruiters and job seekers. The event was attended by senior university officials including the Registrar, Deans, Principals, Finance Officer, Director IQAC, and the placement team from DBU—reflecting the strong institutional commitment from both universities. The proceedings were conducted efficiently and coherently by Dr Ravika Arora, while the programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. D.S. Manhas. With this, the Mega Job Fair 2025 stood out as a shining example of academia-industry synergy, driving forward the vision of employability, innovation, and national progress.
