Srinagar, Aug 6: Mayor of Srinagar, Junaid Azim Mattu made a visit to Lal Chowk to inspect the ongoing works at the city center. During his visit, he praised the SMC Works Wing for their exceptional work in delivering the new iconic Clock Tower in record time without compromising on the quality of the project.
Accompanied by senior engineers and officials from Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), the mayor also assessed the progress of other ongoing works at the city center. He directed the officials to redouble their efforts to expedite the completion of these projects.
Additionally, Junaid Mattu interacted with local traders and their representatives to gain insights into the impact of these transformative developments on their businesses and the city as a whole.
Speaking to the media at Lal Chowk, Mayor Mattu expressed his satisfaction with the city’s transformation over the last five years, turning Srinagar into a modern tourist destination with upgraded infrastructure for both locals and visitors. He emphasized that this urban revitalization had already shown positive results, with a significant increase in the number of tourists visiting the city, boosting its economic prospects.
