Poonch, June 21: The Sarimastaan Tribal Gurjar Welfare Foundation Sunday observed the 6th death anniversary of Maulana Muhammad Sharief Noomani, a champion of the marginalised, with a blood donation camp at District Hospital Poonch.
Maulana Noomani’s tireless work for the downtrodden inspired countless individuals with his selfless service. The camp, held under the chairmanship of Foundation Chairman Ch. Muhammad Asad Noomani and technical supervision of Medical Superintendent Dr Shafeeq Chouhan, saw enthusiastic participation from youth who donated blood without consideration of caste, creed or religion.
Sardar Surjan Singh paid rich tributes to Maulana Noomani’s social services, while Surinder Gupta and Ayush Khajuria lauded his contributions and donated blood. Asad Noomani recalled his father’s vision of serving society selflessly, emphasising the importance of blood donation and creating awareness about it. He highlighted the pressing issue of staff and technical personnel shortage at DH Poonch, appealing to the government to address this critical issue. The Sarimastaan Foundation, known for its exceptional social and educational work in Jammu and Kashmir, operates a fleet of ambulances for medical emergencies and received the UT-Level Award from the J&K Government last year. The Medical Superintendent expressed gratitude to the Foundation for organising the camp, acknowledging its impact on saving lives. Asad Noomani underscored the Foundation’s commitment to social welfare and healthcare, continuing Maulana Noomani’s legacy in the Pir Panjal region.
