Ganderbal, July 19: A devastating fire broke out at the Physical Education College Gadoora in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Wednesday, causing extensive damage to the upper portion of the college building.
According to officials, the fire erupted suddenly, leading to significant destruction in the college premises. Prompt action was taken as soon as the incident was reported, with police, locals, and fire tenders from Ganderbal and Batwina rushing to the spot to bring the flames under control.
The officials stated that the primary cause of the fire was identified as a short circuit. Thankfully, no loss of human life was reported in the incident. However, the upper story of the college suffered severe damage due to the blaze.
Authorities are actively investigating the matter, and the police have registered a case in connection with the incident. The extent of the damage caused to the college and its facilities is being assessed to determine the impact on the educational institution.
