Srinagar, May 17: Prominent youth leader and Media and IT In-charge of the J&K Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday held a productive meeting with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan here. The discussions revolved around several significant issues concerning the development of Jammu and Kashmir and the welfare of its people.
According to a party statement issued here, Bhat and LG Sinha during the meeting engaged in a comprehensive dialogue on various matters related to the growth and progress of Jammu and Kashmir. “Bhat expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor for implementing dynamic and reformative policies that are bringing about positive changes in the lives of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He acknowledged that the Union Territory is entering a new era of development and commendably praised the administration for its efforts,” the statement said.
In addition, Bhat submitted a memorandum of demands to the LG, highlighting the urgent need for the renovation of the Shahr-e-Khaas Downtown Heritage system. Recognizing its historical and cultural significance, Manzoor Bhat emphasized the importance of transforming it into a prominent tourist attraction, preserving the rich heritage of Kashmir.
Furthermore, the BJP youth leader raised the concern that some hospitals in Kashmir are not accepting Ayushman Bharat Golden Cards which he said is a matter of grave importance. He stressed that this program, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is a significant step towards providing accessible and affordable healthcare to the common man. He appealed to the Lieutenant Governor to address this issue promptly and ensure that all eligible citizens can benefit from this scheme.
Bhat also urged the LG to introduce more schemes for the local population and emphasized the need for the creation of additional employment opportunities for the youth. The discussion covered various other important matters as well.
“Lieutenant Governor Sinha attentively listened to all the demands presented by Mr Bhat and assured him that the genuine concerns and issues would be taken into serious consideration for prompt redressal,” the statement said.
