Jammu, Oct 06: Many social activists joined AamAadmi Party (AAP) in Jammu on Thursday, a statement from the party claimed.
The event was presided over by the AAP Jammu Urban president, Dixit Gupta with vice-president Rajiv Mahajan and other senior leaders of the party were also present in the event.
Social activists who joined AAP include Raj Kumar, Raul Pal Sharma, Babu Ram, Yash pal Sharma, Rahul Kumar, Shubam Kumar, Vipin Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar,  Sanjit Mahajan, Sunil Kumar, Ram Kumar, Deepu Kumar, Deepak Gupta, Vivek Sharma, Vicky Singh, Sonu Kumar and others, the statement said.
Welcoming the entrants, Dixit Gupta and Rajiv Mahajan said that hundreds of prominent social activists, civil society members and political leaders have joined AAP in recent days in Jammu and Kashmir, which clearly shows that party is gaining more and more strength on grass-roots level and day is not far when people will vote AAP to power.
They added that that constructive governance model, development model and especially healthcare, education model implemented by the AamAadmi Party is now the core of politics in the entire country and everyone is looking at the AamAadmi Party headed by ArvindKejriwal as the only option available to end public issues.
They further said that many new faces are set to join the AamAadmi Party in Jammu in days to come.
Addressing the media, newly joined members said that the motive behind joining the party is to become a part of the revolution which is ensuing in Jammu and Kashmir in the form of AamAadmi Party.
They added that policies and programmes of AAP are “pro-public” and this is the only political platform where public grievances find appropriate takers and AAP works in a pro people manner addressing the grievances of masses and working model of government has realised the claims and slogans of development in Delhi and Punjab.
