Vijaypur, Apr 17: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh has paid obeisance to Guru Nabha Dass Ji, a saint, theologian and author of the Bhaktamal, during a function organized here at Birpur.
In this function, the former minister was accompanied by the SC Wing State Coordinator, Bodh Raj Bhagat and prominent people of the Schedule Caste Community.
After paying obeisance to Shri Guru Nabha Dass Ji, he remembered his contribution for the upliftment of the community and introducing the marginalized community to the spiritual world.
He said that the people should follow the footsteps of Guru Ji so that people can equally be treated in the society without any discrimination.
“The teachings of Shri Guru Nabha Dass Ji should be taught in the primary schools and should be made compulsory in the school curriculum for the students. These religiously and spiritually saints have the capacity to unite the people of different faiths and different sectors to work in unity with peace in the society,” he added.
Meanwhile, he also took a review of the developmental activities in Birpur in which he was informed about the poor pace of developmental activities as the authorities often avoid doing work in all the areas.
“The people who support a particular party get support from the authorities and their work is done without delay. However, the general public is unnecessarily forced to suffer with delaying tactics,” he further added.
He demanded that the authorities should treat people equally and not put barriers before them with regard to the development or providing of basic amenities.
He assured the people that they will continue their struggle for the fulfillment of their rights and demanded holding of Assembly Elections in J&K which have been delayed for the last four years.
Earlier, the SC Wing State Coordinator, Bodh Raj Bhagat also recalled the contribution of Shri Guru Nabha Dass Ji and said that the people should understand the importance of his teaching in this modern world to overcome the social, economic, political and educational backwardness.
He said that the community shall continue its fight for equality.
