Samba, June 18: Apni Party provincial president Jammu and former minister S Manjit Singh has demanded immediate restoration of electricity in Samba, Jammu and other areas.
In a statement issued here, Singh said today’s windstorm has uprooted trees and electricity poles at several locations and apprehended losses to the property. “The windstorm has caused damage to the electricity supply system because the electricity poles and wires were seen scattered posing a threat to the lives in Samba’s several areas,” he said.
The former minister said authorities must immediately take prompt action and replace the uprooted poles, and fix the wires properly to avoid any untoward incident.
He said electricity has been snapped in many areas and it must be restored immediately. “If the electricity is not restored, the drinking water supply system will also continue to remain affected especially during the summer season,” he said.
