Addressing a meeting of party workers at Akhnoor, the senior NC leader took stock of the problems being faced by the people of the area as a result of the recent flash floods. It is crucial that immediate action is taken to provide relief and support to those affected by these natural disasters, he said.
Manhas expressed deep disappointment over the ruling party’s “failure” to deliver basic amenities and adequately address the pressing issues faced by the people of Jammu & Kashmir. He highlighted the BJP’s “inability” to provide essential services and infrastructure that are crucial for the development and well-being of the region. “Despite numerous promises made during election campaigns, the current administration has failed to fulfill its obligations to the citizens of Jammu & Kashmir, leaving them in a state of distress and deprivation,” he said.
The senior NC leader emphasized the fundamental importance of basic amenities, such as access to clean drinking water, reliable electricity supply, and efficient healthcare facilities. He emphasized that the lack of these necessities has created immense hardships for the people and has hindered the progress and advancement of the region. He accused the BJP of neglecting the concerns and issues that are of utmost importance to the people. He noted the lack of attention given to unemployment, poverty alleviation, and education reforms, which are vital for the empowerment and upliftment of the community.
He asked the government to prioritize the needs of the people residing in rural and far-flung areas and allocate necessary resources to improve the living standards and overall quality of life in the region.
Raghbir urged the party workers to gear up for the upcoming Panchayat polls and made the public aware of the “significant contributions that the National Conference has made to the development of the state”.
