Kulgam, June 09: Commissioner Secretary, Rural Development Department (RDD) and Panchayati Raj, Mandeep Kour on Friday visited Kulgam and inspected and inaugurated several development projects being executed by Rural Development Department in the district.
During her visit to the flood protection bund at Aadigatnoo and Zungalpora, she was informed that these flood protection bunds have been constructed in convergence mode with an estimated cost of Rs 5.85 crore, and will protect several villages from stormy floods of River Veshow.
The Commissioner Secretary, during her visit to Checkpora panchayat, inspected the newly developed playfield and Amrit Sarovars at Chekpora panchayat. She also inaugurated a Solid Waste management shed in the panchayat. She was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Bilal-Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat, Director RDD Kashmir, Shabir Hussein Bhat, SSP Sahil Sarangal, ADDC, Showkat Ahmad Rather, ACD, ACP and other officers.
Later, the Commissioner Secretary visited D K Marg Block where she inaugurated the newly constructed playfield at village Sarmarg Sanyadi which has been constructed at a cost of 18 lakh. At D K Marg, she presided over the PMAY-G registration camp to oversee the ongoing registration of beneficiaries. She also interacted with locals and PRI members and listened to their issues and demands.
Mandeep Kour said that J&K UT has received additional PMAY-G houses and special camps are being conducted to complete the process of registration and sanction of cases by 30th June and completion of houses by 31st March, 2024.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that the implementation of schemes is being monitored closely by the district administration. The Commissioner Secretary also inaugurated two Block Development Office buildings at D K Marg and Pombay. She was informed that both buildings were constructed by RDD with a cost of Rs 51 lakh.
Later, she chaired a meeting with PRI members at the mini-secretariat and listened to their issues and demands.
