Bandipora Dec, 31: A 40-year-old man died after falling from a tree in Nowgam village of Sumbal Sub division of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday afternoon.
An official told Rising Kashmir that Bashir Ahmad Chakan of Nowgam area of Sumbal fell from a tree, resulting in his onspot death.
He said that body was shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities and was later handed to family members for last rites.
The news of his death left shocked his family and friends and pall of gloom descended in the village with thousands thronged to participate in the last rites of deceased.
Meanwhile police have taken cognizance of the matter.
