Reasi, Mar 11: In an electrifying display of athleticism and skill, Mamma Club Judda secured the title of Reasi District Volleyball Champions after defeating Arnas Volleyball Club in a gripping final match. The showdown, held at Zorawar Singh Stadium in Reasi, concluded with a 3-1 victory in sets (25-15, 25-16, 26-28, 25-23) in favor of Mamma Club Judda.
The two-day championship, organized by the Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council and district administration, witnessed fierce competition among 12 teams from Reasi District. The event aimed to foster competitive spirit among youth and contribute to the holistic development of the region.
Kulbushan Khajuria, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Reasi, highlighted the significance of such sporting events in remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing their role in nurturing talent and fostering a sense of national pride. He commended the efforts of the Volleyball Association of J&K in promoting sports and fitness across the region.
During the closing ceremony, Khajuria presented prizes, trophies, and medals to the winning and runner-up teams, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to supporting sports development initiatives in the district.
The event also saw the felicitation of distinguished guests, including former president of Reasi Municipality and senior volleyball player Yash Paul, and Dalbir Mehta, Manager of Sports Stadium Reasi, for their contributions to the sport.
VK Magotra, General Secretary of the Volleyball Association of J&K, expressed satisfaction with the level of competition displayed throughout the championship, highlighting the growing interest and participation in volleyball across the region.
Kuldeep Magotra, CEO of the Volleyball Association of J&K, shared insights into the state’s burgeoning success in volleyball at national and international levels, citing recent achievements such as securing a bronze medal in the 48th National Junior Volleyball Championship.
The officiating referees, Manjyot Singh, Jamrot, and Karan Rajput, were also honored for their contributions to the smooth conduct of the matches.
