In a major road accident on Saturday on the Sinthan-Kokernag route, a vehicle skidded off the road, resulting in the deaths of eight passengers, officials said.
Suheel Ahmad, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kokernag, told Rising Kashmir that the accident occurred near Aarshan Hut, 20 km from Daksum Naka, involving a private car.
He said that Imtiyaz Ahmad, a policeman, along with his five children and two women, was onboard when they met with an accident on the Kishtwar-Anantnag road at the Arashan spot.
“Imtiyaz, the deceased, was coming back to his home in Madwa Kishtwar from Kishtwar where he was posted,” he said.
