UT Media Nodal Officer for General Elections-2024, Sapna Kotwal (Secretary, J&K Advisory Board for Development of Pahari) on Monday held an interaction session with Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) and Election Nodal Officers of District Srinagar here regarding Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities taken up in the district.

The meeting was held to take first hand appraisal of progress on activities being held under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign in Srinagar district for voter education, spreading voter awareness and promoting voter literacy in view of the upcoming polls in 02-Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency.

On the occasion, the UT Media Nodal Officer was given a detailed PowerPoint Presentation regarding the SVEEP activities held in Srinagar district during 2023-24. She was informed that over 90 thousand eligible new voters were added including over 25 thousand young voters during the SVEEP campaign held across the district.

She appreciated the efforts of the SVEEP team of Srinagar district for sensitizing the new voters. She asked the officers to continue the SVEEP activities and install hoardings at prominent public places besides publicizing through different print/electronic and social media platforms to maximize the voter turnout in the district.

Besides, Deputy District Election Officer, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, the meeting was attended by AROs, Nodal Officer SVEEP and other concerned officials.
