Locals hail Supreme Court’s verdict on Art-370

Srinagar, Dec 11: As the Supreme Court of India on Monday affirmed the constitutionality of the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir, the decision elicited widespread support from the locals. 

Residents of Jammu and Kashmir stated that the Supreme Court’s verdict aligns with the will of the people and reflects their aspirations.

The Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the revocation of Article 370 is perceived by many as a powerful endorsement of the constitutional changes initiated by the government in August 2019. 

Beyond the legal intricacies, locals assert that the apex court has not only ratified the government’s move but, more fundamentally, has recognized and validated the collective will of the people.

Mushtaq Ahmad, an entrepreneur from Srinagar outskirts while reacting on Supreme Court’s Verdict on article 370 abrogation told Rising Kashmir that not only him, local entrepreneurs, who have long yearned for greater business opportunities, see the Supreme Court’s verdict as a reaffirmation of the government’s commitment to boost economic growth in Jammu and Kashmir. 

The J&K has witnessed a surge in entrepreneurial ventures, with new businesses emerging across sectors, Mushtaq said adding, “I have experienced increased footfall and business growth which signals a promising future for local enterprises”.

Mohammad Hussain, a local tour operator, told Rising Kashmir that the Supreme Court’s verdict has provided a sense of stability and confidence to the tourism industry. 

Khalil Ahmad, a senior citizen from border village of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district while sharing his perspective said that as someone who has witnessed the complex history of Jammu & Kashmir, the Supreme Court’s decision brings a sense of closure.

It validates the aspirations of generations who have longed for a more integrated and harmonious future. It’s a historic moment for us, he added. 

Irshad Ahmad Khan, a 37-year-old resident of Nawa Kadal, Srinagar, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the Supreme Court decision upholding the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Khan views this as a significant move towards regional development and unity. He extended gratitude to the Supreme Court for its careful consideration and looks forward to a more cohesive and prosperous future for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Wahid Ali, a 36-year-old resident of Budgam, commended the Supreme Court’s decision upholding the centre’s move to abrogate Article 370. He believes the verdict aligns with constitutional values and will foster unity and development in the region. Wahid expressed gratitude to the Court for its judicious handling of the matter, anticipating a brighter future for Jammu and Kashmir.

Bikram Deep Singh (41), a resident of Srinagar, extended appreciation for the Supreme Court’s recent decision supporting the centre’s action to abrogate Article 370. Singh sees the verdict as a positive step towards regional integration and progress. He expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court for its judicious handling of the matter and anticipates a more harmonious and developed future for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Shah Ashiq Hussain, a 38-year-old resident of DH Pora, Kulgam, applauded the Supreme Court verdict on Article 370. He believes this decision will contribute to regional integration and developmental opportunities. He expresses gratitude to the Supreme Court for its thorough consideration and looks forward to a more united and prosperous future for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Surinder Singh, a 48-year old resident of Tral, Kashmir, extended appreciation for the recent Supreme Court decision supporting the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Singh sees this as a pivotal step towards regional progress and unity. He expresses gratitude to the Supreme Court for its thoughtful deliberation and anticipates a brighter and more cohesive future for Jammu and Kashmir.

Altaf Ahmad, a 39-year-old resident of Ganderbal, expressed sincere appreciation for the recent Supreme Court decision. He believes this decision is a significant step towards regional progress and unity. He extended gratitude to the Supreme Court for its thoughtful consideration and eagerly anticipates a more integrated and prosperous future for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Sajeeda, a 27-year-old resident of Anantnag district in the Kashmir Valley, expressed sincere appreciation for the recent Supreme Court decision. She sees this as a positive stride towards regional development and unity. She thanked Supreme Court for its considered judgment and eagerly anticipates a more integrated and prosperous future for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Basharat Ahmad Wani of Qazigund expressed appreciation for the recent Supreme Court decision supporting the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Ahmad views this as a significant stride towards regional development and unity. He extended gratitude to the Supreme Court for its thoughtful consideration and eagerly anticipates a more integrated and prosperous future for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Harjeet Singh, (48), from North Kashmir’s Baramulla district view the Supreme Court decision supporting the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir as a significant stride towards regional development and unity. He extended gratitude to the Supreme Court for its thoughtful consideration and eagerly anticipates a more integrated and prosperous future for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Tamana, a 22-year-old resident of Achabal, Anantnag, expressed her sincere appreciation for the recent Supreme Court decision. Tamana sees this as a significant step towards regional development and unity. She extended gratitude to the Supreme Court for its thoughtful consideration and eagerly anticipates a more integrated and prosperous future for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

 Adil Ahmad Wani, 24, a resident of Chattabal, Srinagar, lauded the recent Supreme Court decision on Article 370. He believes this historic move will contribute to regional development and unity.

Faisal Bashir, aged 31, a resident of Sopore, commended the recent Supreme Court decision on Article 370. Recognizing its significance for regional progress, Faisal expresses gratitude to the Supreme Court for thoughtful consideration. He envisions a promising future for Jammu and Kashmir.

Ishrat, a 25-year-old resident of Kupwara, appreciated the recent Supreme Court decision on Article 370. Believing in its positive impact on regional development, Ishrat extended gratitude to the Supreme Court for thoughtful consideration. She anticipates a more integrated and prosperous future for Jammu and Kashmir.

Shabir Ahmad Sofi, a 42-year-old resident of Kanipora, Nowgam, reflects on the recent Supreme Court decision on Article 370. Shabir appreciates the Court’s stance, foreseeing positive implications for regional development. He extends thanks for the considered judgment, envisioning a future of greater integration and prosperity for Jammu and Kashmir.

Tawheeda Nabi, a 47-year-old resident hailing from Tahab, Shopian, expressed gratitude for the recent Supreme Court decision on Article 370. Recognizing its potential impact on regional development, Tawheeda acknowledges the thoughtful stance taken by the Supreme Court. She envisions a future that is more integrated and prosperous for Jammu and Kashmir.

Humaira Bashir, a 19-year-old resident of Humhama, extended her appreciation for the recent Supreme Court decision on Article 370. Recognizing its potential impact on regional development, Humaira acknowledges the Supreme Court for its discerning stance. She envisions a more integrated and prosperous future for Jammu and Kashmir.

“We see this as an opportunity for increased participation in the nation’s growth and development. It’s a moment of empowerment for the younger generation”, she added.
