At least nine people were injured when an auto load carrier turned turtle on Wednesday morning at Thune area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, causing chaos on the Srinagar Leh highway.
According to reports, the auto load carrier was en route to Kangan when the accident occurred. The injured were immediately taken to the sub-district hospital in Kangan for medical assistance. However, eight of them were later referred to SKIMS Soura hospital for specialized treatment.
The injured individuals have been identified as Lateef Ahmad, Mushtaq Ahmad, Gh Nabi, Muzaffar Ahmad, Altaf Ahmad, Muneer, Aashiq Hussain, Zakir, and Mumtaz.
Medical Superintendent of Sub District Hospital Kangan, Dr. Salma Bhat, confirmed that the injured have been shifted to SKIMS Soura for further treatment. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined, and an investigation is underway.
