Baramulla, June 21:In a significant step towards preserving and showcasing Jammu and Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the Indian Army’s Dagger Heritage Complex at Boniyar in North Kashmir’s Baramulla.
The Dagger Heritage Complex, curated by the Dagger Division, stands as a testament to the region’s ancient architecture and cultural ethos.
Lieutenant Governor Sinha praised the division for their dedicated efforts in preserving Jammu and Kashmir’s timeless heritage. The complex features a Heritage Corner, a Laser Light and Sound Show, and the Dagger Division & Formation Museum, offering visitors an immersive experience into the cultural treasures and valor of Indian soldiers.
Addressing the gathering, Lieutenant Governor Sinha urged the youth to visit the complex to deepen their understanding of their roots. He emphasized the importance of embracing the vision of Vikas and Virasat to nurture a robust cultural ecosystem in society. Highlighting the significance of ancient civilizations and cultural traditions, Sinha underscored the wisdom they impart.
During the inauguration ceremony, Lieutenant Governor Sinha paid homage to the brave soldiers of the Indian Army and reflected on the motto inscribed on the Dagger War Memorial, “MeraHarKaam, DeshKeNaam,” as a poignant representation of soldiers’ dedication and patriotism.
In a touching tribute, the Lt. Governor also visited the ancient Boniyar Temple and unveiled the bust of the late Raja NazarBoniyari, a literary figure from Baramulla. A laser and sound show depicting army operations and the history of the Boniyar Temple added depth to the commemorative event.
