Srinagar, July 21: In the recent episode of Awam Ki Awaaz, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha commended Bilal Bhatt from Tulmulla, Ganderbal, for his tireless grassroots work in social reform and women’s empowerment. Recognizing Bhatt as a beacon of hope, Sinha highlighted his dedication to serving the community and raising awareness on vital issues.
Bilal Bhatt, a campaigner, social reformer, and motivational speaker, has been instrumental in empowering citizens through various initiatives for over 14 years. His mission, “Let’s Stand Today for a Better Tomorrow,” reflects his commitment to societal betterment.
Bhatt’s notable contributions in women’s empowerment include active engagement with Social Welfare Department policies, programs, and schemes. Over the last five years, he has worked extensively with the Ministry of Women & Child Development and the Department of Social Welfare, focusing on schemes aimed at empowering women and girls.
Every year, Bhatt is seen at Mata KheerBhawaniTullamulla in Ganderbal, interacting with devotees about their safety and well-being. Bhatt holds postgraduate degrees in Commerce and Disaster Management.
Speaking to Rising Kashmir, Bhatt expressed his happiness over the recognition from LG Manoj Sinha. “I feel very happy today because Manoj Sinha highlighted my efforts in AwaamkiAwaaz. This acknowledgment gives new hope to my 14 years of hard work,” he said.
Bhatt’s initiatives include leading campaigns on critical issues like suicide prevention and organizing seminars, public meetings, and camps in collaboration with various stakeholders such as the judiciary, police, and social welfare departments. His efforts have been recognized and awarded by different agencies for his work in widow welfare, environmental protection, poverty alleviation, and gender equity.
Bhatt remains dedicated to empowering women and improving society through door-to-door campaigns in villages and remote areas, educating women about their rights and opportunities. “The empowerment of women and serving society has been my lifelong mission, vision, and goal,” Bhatt stated. “I am very happy to have chosen social work as my career. A dedicated social worker can make a difference in someone’s life.”
