Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday Interacted with prodigious Para Archers Ms Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar.
In a series of post on X, Lt Governor said, “Their outstanding performance at Asian Para Games have inspired the youth and the entire Union Territory is proud of them for bringing glory to the nation.”
He also honored Para Archers & Coach, Ms Abhilasha Choudhary with Certificate of Excellence. “Their strong winner’s instinct will popularize robust sports culture in J&K”, he said.
Sinha said that he appreciate efforts of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board for remarkable contribution to promotion of sports in UT.
At the Asian Para Games, Sheetal won three medals in total, which included a women’s team silver, a mixed team gold, and gold in the women’s singles compound open event.
In the women’s singles event, Sheetal Devi showcased a scintillating performance and defeated Singapore’s Alim Nur Syahidah.
India ended their Para Asian Games campaign with a total of 111 medals, comprising 29 golds, 31 silvers and 51 bronzes.
India finished fifth in the medal tally, winning 55 medals in athletics itself, with 18 golds, 17 silver, and 20 bronze.
