Srinagar, Sept 02: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives following a shooting stones incident on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine track. In response to the tragedy, the Lt Governor has approved an ex-gratia payment of ₹5 lakh to each family of the deceased and additional assistance as per established rules for the affected families.
In his condolence message, Lt Governor Sinha conveyed: “I am deeply pained by the loss of precious lives due to the unfortunate incident of shooting stones on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine track today. My heartfelt condolences go out to the bereaved families during this time of grief. I am praying for the swift recovery of the injured. I have instructed the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and the District Administration of Reasi to provide all necessary support to the affected families and ensure the best possible care for the injured.”
