Jammu, Dec 03: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today chaired a high-level meeting at Raj Bhawan to review the functioning of the Home Department.
The meeting focused on key areas such as Security Related Expenditure (SRE), manpower positioning, infrastructure development, and challenges faced by various departments under the Home Department, including J&K Police, Prisons, Fire and Emergency Services, Home Guards, SDRF, Prosecution, and Forensic Sciences.
Lieutenant Governor Sinha underscored the need for modernization and strengthening of police and allied agencies to tackle security and law and order challenges effectively. He further directed that all ongoing projects under SRE and PMDP be completed within the stipulated time frame.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Principal Secretary to Home Chandraker Bharti, DGP Nalin Prabhat, DGP Prisons Deepak Kumar, and other senior officials, including ADGPs M.K. Sinha, Vijay Kumar, Anand Jain, Nitish Kumar, and IGP Kashmir Vidhi Kumar Birdi, among others.
The discussions also delved into effective prison management, human resources, and other critical issues pertaining to internal security and the criminal justice system.
