Amarnath Ji Yatra sees highest pilgrim numbers in 12 years
Srinagar, Aug 23: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha presided over the 47th Board meeting of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) at Raj Bhawan today.
The meeting was attended by Shrine Board members D.C. Raina, Kailash Mehra Sadhu, K. N. Rai, Dr. Shailesh Raina, and Prof. Vishwamurti Shastri.
Under the chairmanship of Lt. Governor Sinha, the Board commended the efforts of the Civil Administration, Jammu & Kashmir Police, Army, CAPFs, Disaster Response Forces, SASB, health and sanitation workers, service providers, and all stakeholders for the successful conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. This year, the pilgrimage saw over 5.12 lakh devotees visiting the Holy Cave, marking the highest Yatra figure in the past twelve years.
The meeting focused on various interventions and proposed measures aimed at enhancing facilities and services for devotees. Board members provided valuable input on agenda points, highlighting improvements in queue regulation, crowd management, and the successful implementation of Aadhaar-based registration.
The Chief Executive Officer of SASB presented a detailed overview of ongoing projects and other key aspects of the annual pilgrimage. The Additional CEO SASB, senior officers of the UT Administration, and Shrine Board officials also participated in the meeting.
