Srinagar, September 14: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha laid a wreath and paid homage to Col Manpreet Singh and Major Aashish Dhonchak, who made supreme sacrifice in an operation against terrorists in Anantnag.
“My deepest condolences to their families. The grateful nation will forever remain indebted to the bravehearts,” the Lt Governor said.
The mortal remains of the bravehearts will be sent to their respective native places for last rites with full military honours.
Saluting the supreme sacrifice made by the bravehearts who laid down their lives while fighting terrorists during Anantnag encounter, the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, attended the wreath laying ceremony and paid homage to the officers at BB Cantt on Thursday.
Heartfelt tributes were also paid by Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, Chinar Corps Cdr along with Chief Secy J&K, Security Advisor to LG, DGP J&K and numerous other dignitaries during the wreath laying ceremony.
“In this hour of grief, the Indian Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved families and remains committed to their dignity, safety, and well-being,” expressed the officers.
