Katra, Aug 11: Lt Governor Manoj Sinha today offered prayers at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, seeking peace, prosperity, and progress for the Union Territory. During his visit, the Lt Governor inaugurated a newly constructed Yagyashala facility at Bhawan, now dedicated to the devotees.
The Yagyashala, strategically located near the old Bathing Ghat below the Atka area, spans 1600 square feet and includes five Hawan Kunds. This expansion allows up to 10 groups of pilgrims to perform Hawan Poojan simultaneously, tripling the previous capacity.
An additional 1100 square feet covered approach gallery has been created to accommodate over 100 pilgrims, particularly during the Shat Chandi Mahayagya, a key ritual during Navratras.
The event saw the presence of prominent officials including Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lt Governor; Anshul Garg, CEO of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board; Vishesh Paul Mahajan, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi; and SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma, along with a large number of devotees.
