New Delhi, Nov 13: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital.
“Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha called on PM Narendra Modi,” the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a tweet.
On the occasion, LG Sinha, who is the Chancellor, SKUAST-Kashmir presented a special gift of Saffron bouquet from the people of the Union Territory to mark the festivities of good saffron harvest this year.
A tweet in this regard from the LG’s office read, “A special gift of gratitude to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji from the people of J&K. In ancient Indian tradition Saffron is referred as ‘Bahukam’. As harvest festivity draws near, symbol of joy and light GI tagged exquisite and enchanting produce is ready to be delivered globally.”
In another tweet, the LG’s office further informed that during the meeting, LG Sinha also briefed the PM about the recommendations of Apex committee.
“Briefed the Hon’ble PM about the recommendations of Apex Committee on holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors for raising farmer’s income and time bound implementation of reforms to boost agriculture exports, creation of modern infrastructure and value chain,” read the LG’s tweet.
