Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha underscored the ‘Back to Village’ campaign’s overarching mission to rejuvenate and empower villages socially and economically in Jammu and Kashmir.
LG Sinha articulated the campaign’s primary objective as instigating a transformative shift in the rural socio-economic fabric, aiming to position villages as dynamic contributors to the overall development of the region.
During his keynote address at ‘Awaam Ki Awaaz,’ the Lieutenant Governor drew parallels with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, a key architect of India’s constitution and a prominent social reformer.
Quoting Ambedkar’s insights from the constituent assembly, Sinha emphasized the essence of social democracy, encapsulated by principles such as liberty, equality, and fraternity.
LG Sinha highlighted the Back to Village campaign as a beacon of hope, conveying the message that myriad challenges faced by rural areas can be effectively addressed through Janbhagidari, or public participation.
He urged for sustained mutual cooperation, advocating for its integration as a permanent feature in the developmental trajectory of villages.
Acknowledging the impact of grassroots involvement, LG Sinha commended Varun Sharma from Jammu, who proposed a thoughtful audio suggestion focusing on addressing issues concerning senior citizens within the framework of the Back to Village campaign.
The Lieutenant Governor extended heartfelt congratulations to Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar for their outstanding performances in the recently concluded Asian Para Games, hailing them as true champions and inspirations for others.
Further, LG Sinha spotlighted the achievements of progressive farmers, lauding their hard work and discipline in achieving the ambitious goal of doubling income.
He specifically praised the success of Pushpinder Singh from Kartholi Block, Samba, citing it as a motivating example spurring others to initiate agricultural reforms.
Zahoor Ahmad of Kulgam district also received mention for successfully cultivating premium Mushkbudji rice using hydroponic techniques.
LG Sinha celebrated this as a shining example, illustrating how technology and innovative methods can lay the foundation for future agricultural growth.
He commended Bandna Devi of village Malothi, Doda, appreciating her transformative journey from ‘maize to marigold’ as a living testament to Nari Shakti’s ability to lead the way to prosperity.
