Srinagar, Oct 15: The much-awaited Legends League Cricket final is set to take place tomorrow at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar, bringing an exciting end to a tournament that has captivated cricket fans across Jammu and Kashmir. The final match will feature two top teams led by cricket legends Kedar Jadhav and Irfan Pathan, promising a thrilling showdown for spectators.
Speaking at a press conference, Kedar Jadhav highlighted the competitive spirit of the league, expressing enthusiasm for the final. “We’re expecting a great game and a fantastic turnout from the fans,” Jadhav said. He emphasized the intense competition throughout the tournament, noting several matches that were decided on the last ball, adding, “We’ve had a great season, and today’s final will be a clash of the top two teams.”
Irfan Pathan shared his excitement at being part of the league, stating that playing alongside former teammates and witnessing the joy of young fans has been a rewarding experience. “The weather here is amazing, and the passion for cricket is even more so,” Pathan said, underscoring the league’s role in inspiring the next generation of cricketers. “Seeing legends like Yusuf Pathan, Shikhar Dhawan, and others can plant the seed of inspiration in young kids. That’s one of the hidden purposes of this league — to motivate youth towards sports.”
Reflecting on his personal connection to Kashmir, Pathan expressed appreciation for the warmth and hospitality he receives during his visits. “Whenever I come to Kashmir, I feel at home. The hospitality and love I’ve received from the people here are unmatched,” he said, encouraging more cricketers to experience the valley.
The Legends League management extended their gratitude to the Jammu and Kashmir administration for their support. “With the blessings of Manoj Sinha ji, we’ve been able to bring this tournament to both Jammu and Srinagar. We are grateful to the administration, security forces, and the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council for making this possible,” the organizers said.
The league has provided a platform for retired players to continue playing competitive cricket, and the unique setting of Jammu and Kashmir has made the tournament even more special. “This league has given retired players the chance to keep playing, and it’s a privilege for us to be here,” the cricketers added, expressing their thanks to the organizers.
