The Lakes Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA) conducted a demolition drive on Saturday, removing illegal pathways built along Dal Lake’s ghats.
Shikara owners expressed their frustration, claiming they had constructed these pathways in 2012 at their own expense for overnight parking. They alleged that LCMA carried out the demolition without prior notice.
A group of Shikara owners told Rising Kashmir that authorities should intervene in this matter and urged MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq, to help restore the pathways. Meanwhile, LCMA officials declined to comment on the issue.
