Chandigarh, Nov 20: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Monday demanded that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann should come clean on charges of his party leader’s involvement in drug smuggling.
In a statement issued here, Chugh said, “The arrest of a close relative of AAP’s Khemkaran legislator Sarwan Singh Dhun’s nephew with one kg of heroin and a drone from Pakistan is an alarming incident which demonstrates how the AAP leaders have been misusing the law and order machinery.”
While complimenting the police personnel who nabbed the AAP MLA’s relative, the BJP leader said ever since the AAP government came to power in the state, the law and order machinery has completely collapsed and the AAP leaders are having field day joining hands with criminals and smugglers.
“Punjab has never seen this kind of collapse of the law and order machinery and as it is happening in the border state it has become an alarming matter to look into,” Chugh said, adding, “All promises made by the AAP government to fight the drug menace in Punjab have proved to be a hollow exercise just to hoodwink the people.”
The drug gangs, he claimed, are still operating without any fear of law and order machinery.
