The first mission unfolded near the village of Ulitokpo, under the jurisdiction of Khaltsi block, where Zankir Hussain and Ahmed Hussain found themselves trapped in their Alto car amidst the unforgiving snow.
Promptly responding to the distress call around 12:30 AM, the Khalsi Police, led by Inspector Nisar Ali, sprang into action. Battling biting cold and treacherous terrain, the team, including HC Amanullah, HC Mohd Abdulla, and HC Mohd Ibrahim, navigated through the blizzard to locate the stranded vehicle.
With precision and determination, they rescued the trapped individuals after a grueling three-hour operation, providing them with much-needed sustenance and warmth.
This daring rescue underscores the vital role law enforcement agencies play in safeguarding lives, particularly during adverse weather conditions. Meanwhile, in another display of bravery and resilience, the Nyoma Police Station received urgent reports of two civilian vehicles stranded near Tsaga La due to heavy snowfall.
Acting swiftly, Inspector Iftikhar Hussain and his team mobilized to the scene, encountering not two, but five vehicles marooned in the snow.
Despite daunting challenges, including obstructed roadways and sub-zero temperatures, the team successfully evacuated all passengers and vehicles, ensuring their safe passage to Leh via Nyoma.
