Srinagar, Dec 14: KVK Kupwara on Wednesday kick-started 7 -day training program on “Commercial Floriculture” under STRY in collaboration with SAMETI Directorate of Extension SKUAST-Kashmir and MANAGE Hyderabad.
The training program was inaugurated by Additional District Development Commissioner Kupwara Altaf Ahmad Khan in training hall of KVK Kupwara.
Senior Scientist & Head KVK Dr Kaiser Mohi-ud-din Malik, Dr Arif Hussain Wani Assistant Professor Cum Jr. Scientist Floriculture and Landscaping, Division of Horticulture FoA, Wadura, Scientific and non-scientific staff of KVK Kupwara, and participants attended the program.
The program started with the welcome address by Dr. Raies A Bhat Scientist Agronomy.
Sr. Scientist & Head KVK presented the overview of training program and briefed the chief guest and participants about the activities of KVK carried out in the district.
He appreciated the role of Director Extension SKUAST-Kashmir Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi and Deputy Director Trainings Dr Farahnaz Rasool for organizing the series of skill training programs at KVK Kupwara.
He also acknowledged the positive role of District Administration Kupwara with respect to support provided to the Kendra in carrying out day-to-day activities.
Additional District Development Commissioner Kupwara in his address hailed the efforts of KVK Kupwara for providing the skill trainings to educated unemployed youth of Kupwara and providing them technical guidance in establishing the income generation units in agriculture and allied sectors. He assured every possible support from the district administration to KVK. The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr F.A. Raina
