Kishtwar, Jan 19: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kishtwar, SKUAST Jammu, Sunday organised a sensitisation program on nutri-gardening at Razna Palmar, attended by 24 farm women from the village.
The initiative, led by Dr. Narinder Paul, Incharge of KVK Kishtwar, aimed to educate women about growing nutrient-rich vegetables in their own backyards to enhance both food and nutritional security.
Under the guidance of Prof. Amrish Vaid, Director of Extension, SKUAST Jammu, participants were introduced to scientific methods of vegetable cultivation, including land preparation, sowing, and nutrient management. Former Sarpanch Amna Begum also participated in the program and praised KVK’s efforts to reach rural communities with such valuable initiatives. The session concluded with the distribution of hybrid vegetable seeds to the participants to help them start their own nutri-gardens.
