Jammu, May 23: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Poonch working under the auspices of Directorate of Extension, Sher- e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) Friday concluded 15 days certificate course on “Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) for Input Dealers”. The programme was inaugurated by Director Extension, SKUAST-J Dr Amrish Vaid through virtual mode on April 22. At the inaugural, Director Extension said that the dealers-retailers are an important link between company and farmers and key change agents in motivating the farmers to use fertilizers in a balanced manner. Chief Scientist, Head, KVK Poonch, Dr. Ajay Gupta while speaking on the valedictory function said that the main purpose of the course was to educate and inform the dealers regarding the different types of fertilizers and their sale and distribution in accordance with Fertilizer Control Order, 1985. The training was attended by 30 participants hailing from different areas of Poonch district. During the training, inclusive lectures regarding fertilizers were delivered by eminent scientists from SKUAST-J, KVK Poonch, KVK and IFFCO. Speaking on the concluding day of certificate course, Dr Muzaffar Mir, Scientist, KVK Poonch highlighted the role of such training programmes so that the dealers in addition to running their businesses may actually help the farmers to use the particular fertilizers based upon the crop and crop requirement. Dr M.A. Guroo, Course Coordinator said that, the general purpose of this course is that no unauthorized person shall be allowed to sell the fertilizers in illegal and inappropriate manner.
