Srinagar, Aug 05: Security forces on Saturday enhanced search operations by launching drones to track down a group of terrorists reportedly hiding in the region following the recent encounter in the Halan Heights area of Kulgam, where three Army soldiers were killed on Friday evening.
A senior defence officer told Rising Kashmir that special drones have been deployed in the area for stringent and effective action while carrying out the search operation.
“The utilization of drones has provided an aerial advantage to the security forces, allowing us to cover difficult terrains and locate any hidden terrorist elements with greater precision,” he said.
The officer said the operation remains ongoing, with security personnel displaying determination and courage in their efforts to bring the situation under control and protect innocent lives from any further danger.
Earlier on Friday, three army personnel who had sustained critical injuries during an ongoing encounter with terrorists in Halan area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday, succumbed in the hospital late last night.
