Jammu, Dec 05: Several Kashmiri Pandits mMonday staged a demonstration at Resident Commissioner (Migrant) office Jammu against the recent militant threats to the community employees serving in Kashmir Valley.
Pertinently, TRF—an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba—issued a threat to 57 PM package employees posted in Kashmir Valley on Sunday.
As the news of the threat spread, several KP employees, who had been already protesting in Jammu seeking relocation to the winter capital, intensified their agitation at the Resident Commissioner (Migrant) office in Jammu.
The agitating employees said that they’re stuck between the devil and the deep sea as on the one hand they’re being selectively killed and targeted on the other the government is not releasing their salaries.
“We aren’t demanding permanent relocation to Jammu. We only want the government to shift us to the winter capital until the situation improves in the Valley. But our repeated requests are falling on the deaf ears,” said one of the agitating employees who wished not to be named.
Another employee said that militants have time and again proved their words and threats right by selectively killing the minority community employees in Valley but the government is adamant to make the KPs and other minority employees scapegoat in Valley.
“We fail to understand why the government is deliberately pushing the employees to a conflict zone?” she said.
