Srinagar,July 25: An annual workshop for editors and correspondents affiliated with Kashmir News Service (KNS) was held at Hotel Raddison in Srinagar.

The workshop was presided over by founder and Editor-in-Chief of KNS, Muhammad Aslam Bhat, and was attended by Chief Editor Sheherbeen Maqsood Ahmed, senior editors Fayaz Wani, Shabir Malik, Syed Aijaz Ahmad and all correspondents.

Editorial desk team was also present on the occasion in order to give insights and address the queries of correspondents regarding several issues.

On the occasion, district correspondents shared their experiences and difficulties in news reporting from the peripheries.

KNS chief Mohammad Aslam Bhat said that correspondent’s job is not easy job, while an editor makes a good news report based on the information and details provided by a correspondent.

“Credibility has been an important goal of KNS and we have never compromised with it. We have never done any news or event without cross-checking the facts,” he said, while asking reporters to first find out facts of any incident and when they are satisfied, only then contact the concerned authorities to record their statement.

He also stressed on the need to work in close coordination with the editorial desk, so as to be factually correct and produce a credible news report for the audience. (KNS)
