Kishtwar, Jun 22: District Administration Kishtwar hosted a vibrant multi-departmental camp at Panchayat Ghar Neeju Kukerwas, Block Drabshalla, on day 8 of the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gramin Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA), to ensure inclusive development and last-mile service delivery to the tribal community.

The initiative—aimed at socio-economic empowerment of tribal communities—brought together several departments, including Health, Agriculture, Education, ICDS, Employment, Rural Development, and Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), offering an array of services to the tribal community members. Their joint presence not only enhanced awareness of welfare schemes among the Scheduled Tribe (ST) population but also facilitated direct access to key entitlements and services.

Each department established dedicated facilitation kiosks offering real-time assistance in beneficiary enrollment, application processing, multilingual informational material, and personalised consultations—thereby ensuring that critical services reach the remotest corners.

A key highlight of the day’s proceedings was the grievance redressal forum, which allowed residents to voice their concerns regarding infrastructure gaps, healthcare access, education challenges and delays in scheme implementation. Officers engaged in open dialogue, offering immediate assurances and timelines for resolution, reflecting the administration’s commitment to responsive and accountable governance.

Field-level officers emphasised the significance of sustained community engagement and highlighted DAJGUA’s role in narrowing the divide between administration and tribal citizens. The platform fostered mutual dialogue, enabling officials not only to disseminate information but also to listen, learn, and adapt to community-specific realities.

The outreach received widespread acclaim from the tribal community and local inhabitants, who lauded the district administration’s proactive, empathetic and ground-level connect
