Kishtwar admin to organize a one-day snow festival to enhance winter tourism

Srinagar, Feb 04: To enhance winter tourism in the Kishtwar district, the district administration Kishtwar, in collaboration with the Directorate of Tourism Jammu, is going to organize a one-day snow festival at Chowgam Ground in the district headquarters on Monday.
Dr. Devansh Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar told the Rising Kashmir that the one-day snow festival will be held in partnership with the Directorate of Tourism Jammu, aiming to boost winter tourism in the district.
“The snow festival will take place at Chowgan Kishtwar Central Park, known for its picturesque surroundings of chinar, cedar, and other trees, which are also major attractions for tourists in the main town of Kishtwar district,” Dr. Yadav Said 
He said that various activities will be organized during the snow festival, including Zorbing, Tug of War, Kabaddi, Food stalls, Trampoline, Snowman competition, Cultural Performances by popular artists arranged by cultural academy and many more. These activities will provide entertainment for both tourists and local visitors.
“The Chowgan park is one of the largest parks and a major tourist attraction in the main town of Kishtwar, covering an area of over 600 kanals,” DC Kishtwar said.
Dr. Yadav also informed that horses and ATV vehicles will be available for tourists and visitors to enjoy rides during the snow festival. Additionally, renowned singers Tauqeer Ali, Anil Shan, and Matma Shan will be performing their songs at this festival.
“Local participants in the activities will also be awarded appreciation certificates for their involvement in various activities,” he said.
