Srinagar, Aug 18: The curtains have come down on the exhilarating Khimber Volleyball Tournament, leaving sports enthusiasts thrilled and teams reinvigorated. In a breathtaking finale held on Friday, Spartans Sports Club Kashipora Tailbal emerged victorious by defeating Shanpora Spikers in a spectacular 3:0 sets showdown.
The championship match, which took place amidst an enthusiastic crowd at the Khimber venue, showcased the immense skill and sportsmanship of both teams. Spartans Sports Club demonstrated their dominance and determination, clinching each set with finesse. The resilience and teamwork of Shanpora Spikers were commendable, though ultimately unable to overcome the powerful display by their adversaries.
The tournament witnessed the participation of around 8 teams, spanning both senior and junior divisions from various corners of the Phaag area. The month-long event was organized under the auspices of the Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, a testament to the region’s dedication to nurturing local sports talent. The tournament was made possible by the generous sponsorship from a group of local businesses including Abdul Rashid Bhat, Labar Traders, Reshi Hardware, Sheikh Sales, Bislari, and Acute Balance Juices.
