Pahalgam, Jun15: In a bid to promote environmental cleanliness and civic responsibility, Khanqa Hydari collaborated with the Pahalgam Development Authority to conduct cleanliness drive across Pahalgam. The initiative, led by Dr. Muhammad Sameer Siddiqui, the patron of Khanqah e Hydari and Tariq Hussain , CEO of Pahalgam Development Authority , aimed to instill a sense of collective duty among residents and visitors alike.
On the occasion, Dr Sameer emphasized the significance of cleanliness not merely as a public obligation but as a personal responsibility deeply rooted in religious teachings.
“Cleanliness is not just about keeping our surroundings tidy; it is an integral part of our faith. In Islam, safeguarding our environment is a sacred duty.”Dr Sameer said.
Members of Khanqah e Hydari, expressed their commitment to fostering sustainable practices. “We have previously organized plantation drives and are dedicated to ongoing efforts for environmental preservation,” said Umair Ali, a member of the organization.
Local residents also voiced their support for the initiative, emphasizing the critical role of public awareness in combating environmental degradation. “As responsible citizens, it is our duty to keep our surroundings clean,” Aijaz Ali, said highlighting the need for sustained community engagement in environmental protection.
Shabir Ahmed Kanue, a noted social activist and member of Khanqah e Hydari said that maintaining cleanliness is essential for preserving the natural beauty of the valley, especially during the tourism season. “As a native of Kashmir valley, it is our shared duty to ensure our environment remains clean” he said.
The event concluded with pledges from participants to uphold cleanliness standards and promote environmental stewardship throughout Pahalgam.
