Anantnag, Oct 30: As part of the celebration of Khadi Mahotsav and Atmanirbhar Bharat, Handicrafts Service Centre (HSC) Anantnag, Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, organised a week-long Handicraft exhibition cum sale of locally manufactured products.
As part of the Marketing Support Scheme, the exhibition provided a platform to about 25 artisans from south Kashmir showcasing their artworks ranging from paper machie, crewel embroidery and sozni products.
Speaking on the occasion, BDC Chairperson, Kokarnag, Parveena Akhtar praised the efforts of the department and underlined the importance of such exhibitions which provide a marketing platform for local artisans.
The exhibition featured live demonstrations of several Handicraft techniques by various awardee artisans. The week-long event concluding on October 29 also featured a wide array of cultural programmes that engaged visitors.
