KCCI holds 89th AGM in Srinagar

Srinagar, Dec 30:  Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) held its 89th Annual General Meeting on Saturday at Hotel ‘The Kaboo’.
A large number of KCCI members, Organisational Heads, special Invitees graced the occasion.
The welcome note was read by the President, Javed Ahmad Tenga.
The proceedings of Meetings were conducted in a dignified manner.
The president outlined the priority issues the Chamber is pursuing.
 The Secretary General Faiz Bakshi read the Annual Administration Report covering the activities, events, meetings held for the period February, 2023 to December,2023 featuring a record 9 meetings with the Lt. Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha, Union Cabinet Ministers, Parliamentary Standing Committees, high ranking central and State Government officials.
The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) also held an Extraordinary General Meeting for altering / amending its Articles of Association to bring them in sync with the Indian Companies Act, 2013, with up to date amendments.
A clause by clause reading of existing Articles and the proposed Alterations/Amendments were read by the Secretary General, discussed at the meeting and adopted unanimously. The members were informed that the Articles of Association of the 99 year old and one of the oldest Chambers needs to remain updated and upgraded in accordance with the changing times, more so, with the revolution brought about by Technological advancement including Artificial Intelligence.
The Chairman J&K Bank, Mr. Baldev Prakash, The Commissioner SMC/ CEO -SMC, Mr. Athar Amir Khan, Director Handicrafts & Handloom Mr. Mehmood Ahmad Shah and senior officials of Administration and J&K Bank graced the occasion.
Among the notable participants from trade were Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya, Mr. Bashir A. Bhat (President KHAROF) Mr. Mauzam Bakshi (President KHARA) Mr. Jaan Mohammad (UTTA) Mr. Bashir Kanu (SKT&C), President PICA Mr. Ajaz Qureshi, Shahid Kamili (FCIK) Mr. Nasir Shah (IATO) Mr. Shameem Shah (TAFI) Mr. Anwar Mir, President TAAK/ATOAK Mr. Rauf Tramboo, Mr. Zahoor Qari , Mr. Athar  Yamen ( TAAI) , Mr. Anwar Mir ( ADTOI) were present.
The KCCI Senior Vice President Ashiq Hussain Shangloo, Junior Vice President Fayaz Ahmad Punjabi, Jt. Secretary General Umar Nazir Tibetbaqal and Treasurer Zubair Mahajan doned the dais. The KCCI Executive Committee Members were also present.
