Jammu, Aug 10: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have released sketches of four terrorists involved in the July 8 attack in which five Army personnel, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), were killed. The suspects were last seen in the Dhoks areas of Bani, Malhar, and Seojdhar in Kathua district.
A police spokesman urged the public to assist in identifying and tracing the terrorists. A reward of ₹5 lakhs (₹500,000) is being offered for actionable information leading to the capture or identification of each terrorist. Additionally, credible informants will receive suitable rewards.
The spokesman emphasized that the identity of informants will be kept confidential to encourage more people to come forward. He urged anyone with information to contact the nearest police station, dial 100, or call 9858034100.
Recent months have seen a series of terror attacks in the Jammu region. Notable incidents include the June 9 attack on a pilgrim bus in Reasi, which killed 11 passengers, and the July 8 ambush on an Indian Army patrol in Kathua’s Machedi, resulting in the deaths of five soldiers. On July 15, four soldiers, including a Captain, were killed in an encounter with terrorists in Doda district’s Desa forests.
