Srinagar, Apr 14: The Kashmiri Christian Community has expressed their appreciation to Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safavi, President and Founder of Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian and the Anjuman Interfaith Dialogue Chapter, for his efforts in promoting interreligious dialogue in Kashmir.
Represented by a delegation from the Christ Church of Kashmir, they lauded Aga Syed Hassan for providing a platform for fostering understanding and cooperation among different religious communities in the region.
Dr Pastor Philips, speaking on behalf of the delegation, commended Aga Hassan for his steadfast support of initiatives aimed at promoting diversity, religious freedom, and interfaith dialogue. He highlighted Aga Hassan’s commitment to fostering unity and understanding among people of different faiths.
Pastor Paul, another member of the delegation, emphasised the importance of unity across diverse backgrounds under the leadership of Aga Syed Hassan. He reiterated the delegation’s dedication to combating hate and bigotry in all its forms.
Aga Syed Hassan expressed gratitude to the Kashmiri Christian Community for their recognition and affection. He highlighted the central role of dialogue in both political and social spheres, citing the historical contributions of the Shia-Sunni brotherhood and the harmonious relations maintained with various religious communities, including Kashmiri Pandits, Sikhs, and Christians. Aga Hassan pledged to continue and build upon the legacy of his predecessors, focusing on issues such as property protection, neighbourhood rights, and family conflict resolution. He underscored the shared history and tradition of coexistence in Kashmir and urged collective efforts to uphold these values.
