A large gathering of Kashmiri Pandits and locals under the banner of Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj today celebrated Saptrishi Samvat 5100 at a simple but impressive function at the historic Vichar Nag, Srinagar.
Sh. Kiran Wattal, Convenor Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj, in his welcome address thanked the honble Governor, distinguished guests and highlighted the importance of the Saptrishi Calendar and the Vichar Nag’s historic importance. He also described such events not only meant for Kashmiri Pandits but also the whole humanity.
Honble Governor of Haryana, Sh. Bandharu Dattatray, addressed the gathering of hundreds of Kashmiri Pandits and highlighted the contribution of Kashmir in the development of Sanatan Dharma, knowledge system and in spiritual consciousness development. He assured the audience of his commitment to renovate and to restore the glory of temples of Kashmir. The Honble Governor of Harayana also released a special Calendar published by Vishva Kashmiri Samaj to commemorate the 5100 years of Saptrishi system & Vijayeshwer Jantrie USA & Canada edition 2024-25 was also released which was Published by Dr. Manmohan Jyotshi Research Foundation (a socio-religious & cultural organization) edited by Sh. Puneet & Suneet Jyotshi for Kashmiri Pandits living in USA & Canada.
The governor also appreciated the role of Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj in orginising such religious events in such adverse conditions and further lauded the efforts of Jammu Kashmir Police & other security agencies working in J&K (UT) in its fight against terrorism and also dedicated the book written and published by Sh. Amit Raina on the same subject.
At the pious occasion, Prof Raj Nehru, Vice Chancellor of Vishwakarma Skill Development University, Harayana and Prof Ramesh Chander Bhardwaj, Vice Chancellor of Maharishi Valmiki Sanskrit University announced a seat on research of Kashmir Shaivism and bring forth the greatness of Kashmir Shavism.
Yoga was also performed by local Boys & Girls at the function. All the dignitaries lauded and appreciated this local Yoga Club who performed yoga in this function.
Hon’ble LG, Sh. Manoj Sinha through a telephonic message also conveyed Navreh greetings to Kashmiri Hindu Community.
A galaxy of prominent persons from Jammu had also come to graced the occasion include Sh. Kamal Ganjoo, Sh. P.L. Pandita, Sh. Ashok Sumbly, Sh. Rajinder Kumar Tickoo, Sh. Delip Koul, Sh. Surinder Bhat & R.K Tickoo.
Mr. Pankaj Dhar a Kashmiri Pandit social activist gave the Vote of Thanks. He further expressed gratitude on behalf of the community towards Sh. Manoj Sinha, LG J&K UT for the revival of Sanatana in Kashmir. Mr. Dhar thanked the local residents, J&K Police, the Honble Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, SMC, Tourism, PDD and the entire administration for their support in making the event successful.
