Kashmiri Pandit Cricket League: Vimarsh at butchering best; Shubam overwhelms Mussa, Wattal’s fireworks

Jammu, Oct 27: Former first class cricketer Vimarsh Kaw was at his murderous best to power Hill View Rajouri to 9-wicket win over Habbakadal Warriors, while explosive Shubam Sharma overwhelmed the fireworks of Rahul Mussa and PuneetWattal to guide One Team One Dream (OTOD) XI to convincing victory over Navreh Cricket Club in the quarterfinal matches to seal berth in the semi-finals of the ongoing Kashmiri Pandit Cricket League (KPCL) season-III, being organised by Safran Cricket Club at Country Cricket Stadium Gharota, near here.
In the first quarterfinal match played Thursday, Hill View Rajouri thrashed Habbakadal Cricket Club in a one-sided contest by 9 wickets.
Earlier, batting first, Habbakadal Warriors scored a fighting total of 142 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Aalok Mam top scored with unbeaten 44 runs off 32 balls, studded with 2 fours and 3 sixes.
For Hill View Rajouri, Vimarsh Kaw took 2 wickets, while Vicky Raina and Anuj claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Hill View Rajouri chased the target easily in 12.3 overs by losing just one wicket, thus won the match by 9 wickets. Vimarsh Kaw top scored with unbeaten 70 runs off 42 balls, studded with 10 fours and 2 sixes, while Vicky Raina contributed 40 runs off 20 balls with the help of 7 boundaries and one maximum.
For Habbakadal Warriors, SagarBhat claimed the lone wicket to fall.
For his splendid batting display, Vimarsh was adjudged as the man of the match.
In another quarterfinal match played today, One Team One Dream XI defeated Navreh Cricket Club in a tough contest by 26 runs.
Batting first, Whites OTOD XI scored a huge total of 192 runs in 20 overs by losing 4 wickets. Shubam Sharma played a brilliant innings of 74 runs off just 40 balls, studded with 7 fours and 4 sixes.
For Navreh Cricket Club, Sandeep Raina, Rahul Mussa and PuneetWattal claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Navreh Cricket Club scored 166 runs in 20 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus losing the match by 26 runs. Rahul Mussa top scored with 60 runs off 44 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes, while PuneetWattal contributed 40 off 28 balls with 7 fours and 1 six.
For the OTOD XI, Rahul Jamwal and Ajay took 1 wicket each.
Shubam Sharma was adjudged as the man of the match for his superb batting show.
The matches were officiated by Ashok Singh and GirdhariLal as the umpires, while ArunZalpuri, Karan Koul, Raja Nadeem and AneeshTickoo were the scorers. Ajay Peshin was the match referee.
The tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Chief Organiser SarthakKhoda.
