Jammu, Dec 26: A two-day training program on “Karmayogi Police Person” organized at STC Talwata from December 23 to 25 witnessed a very positive response from participants who expressed confidence to serve society in a better way.
The training program was inaugurated by Jameel Ahmed, SSP, Principal, STC Talwara. Sanjeev Kumar, Dy.SP was the Course Coordinator during the program in which 20 officials and trainees of the institute participated.
“The idea behind the training program is to bring about a change in attitude and skill set in police personnel. The participants have been trained in 8 modules as per guidance provided by Capacity Building Commission,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.
The Principal in his valedictory address laid emphasis on inculcating a “service attitude” in dealing with the general public, saying, “The more we become Karmayogi Police Person, the more our service power will manifest itself the positive impact we can make on society.”
A one-day workshop program was also organized at STC Talwara on STI, HIV, and AIDS to spread awareness among trainees as well as the staff of the institute. In the inaugural session, Jameel Ahmed welcomed the resource person of the event Dr. Bilal Ahmed of District Hospital Reasi who gave an elaborated talk on the topic and laid emphasis on the conscious efforts that shall be taken for the eradication of HIV/AIDS from society. “We have to be compassionate and sympathetic with the patients of this dreadful disease,” he said. Surdeep Singh, Dy.SP Admn, 480 trainees, and the whole staff of STC Talwara were present on the occasion.
