Srinagar July 26: On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, BJP General Secretary (Org) Ashok Koul on Wednesday paid tributes to soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil war.
The day brings to the fore the bravery of India’s unparalleled warriors who will always remain a source of inspiration to the people of the country, Ashok Koul said.
The Indian Army had launched a fierce counterassault to push back Pakistani forces that had stealthily occupied important heights in Ladakh in 1999.
During the commemorative event, prominent BJP leaders from the region delivered heartfelt speeches, reflecting on the sacrifices made by the armed forces in the Kargil conflict. “They emphasized the indomitable spirit of our soldiers and the invaluable role they play in maintaining peace and security in the region,” the party said in a statement issued here.
In their speeches, the BJP leaders reiterated the party’s unwavering commitment to support and empower the armed forces and pledged to work tirelessly towards strengthening national security. They expressed deep appreciation for the dedication and selflessness exhibited by the soldiers and emphasized the importance of preserving the memory of the fallen heroes as a source of inspiration for future generations.
