Kargil District Magistrate Bans Drone Usage During Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebrations

Kargil, July 24 :  In light of the upcoming Kargil Vijay Diwas 2024 and the visit of VVIPs to Drass on July 25th and 26th, the District Magistrate of Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, IAS, has imposed a ban on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) to ensure the security of the dignitaries.

Asper the Order issued by DM Kargil Whereas, in view of Kargil Vljay Diwas 2024 and the visit of VVIPs to Drass on 25th and 26″ July 2024, SSP Kargil has requested this office to issue an appropriate order to impose a ban on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) to reduce the apprehension of any risk to the security of VVIPs.

Therefore in exercise of the powers vested in me by virtue of section 163 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Samihata, 2023, I, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, IAS, District Magistrate, Kargil, do hereby order that the whole area/ revenue limits of Sub Division Drass and Tehsil Kargil of District Kargil shall be “No Flying Zone” for the purpose of flying of drones and ban Unmanned Aerial Vehicies as well as declare said area to be “Red Zone” under the Drone Rules 2021, from 24″ July 2024 up to 26h July 2024.

The order shall not be applicable to security agencies including police, paramilitary, and SPG as well as defense forces.

In view of the emergent situation and shortage of time, this order is being passed ex- parte and is being addressed to the public in general.

This order shal be promulgated throughout the revenue limits of sub division Drass and Kargil Tehsil, through publicity by Information and Public Relations Department Kargil uploading it on the district website, through print/ digital/ Social media and by affixing copies of this order on the notice board of district, sub division Drass and Tehsil Kargil offices as well as other public places.

The Sr. Superintendent of Police, Kargil shall be responsible for the compliance of above order.

Any person found guilty of a violation shall be prosecuted and punished as per the provisions of the Law
